Galloway Creek Greenway Trail, James River Greenway Trail, South Creek Greenway Trail, & Fulbright Spring Greenway Trail Temorary Trail Closures
Advisory Notice: The above trails are all experiencing temporary, rolling trail closures as the City of Springfield's Environmental Services Department works with contractors to clear sanitary sewer lines. Several of these corridors are near trail segments, and they are temporarily closed due to the proximity of the heavy equipment in the area. If you encounter a trail closed sign, please turn around. We are also posting updates to the Ozark Greenways facebook page.
Galloway Creek Greenway Trail Closures:
- 6/2/2022: The segment of trail north of Southern Hills Blvd. will be closed for a few hours on 6/2/2022 for repair to the sewer main in this area.
- COMPLETED 2/9/2022: SGF Environmental Services contractors will be making trail surface repairs (pouring concrete) in six (6) locations starting near the James River Overpass and working their way south. The contractors have finished clearing the sanitary sewer lines in this area.
- COMPLETED 2/15/2022 : The segment of trail between Battlefield Rd. and Lacuna Street, is still tempoarily closed as the contractors are still working this area.
South Creek Greenway Trail: COMPLETED 2/9/2022. Starting 1/31/2022, SGF Environmental Services department is working with contractors to clear the sanitary sewer easement between 2500 block of S. Scenic to the 2500 block of S. Golden,.
James River Greenway Trail Closures:
- COMPLETED. starting 3/7/2022 the James River Greenway trail will be temporarily closed due to sewer easement clearing near the Northeast Corner of Hwy 65 and James River Expressway. Signs will be posted. Anticipated reopening: 3/11/2022.
- Temporarily Reopened May 5 - May 16, 2022. "Old Iron Bridge" across the James River along the James River Greenway trail will be temporarily closed beginning May 3, 2022. MoDOT is making repairs, and we do not have a timeline.
Fulbright Spring Greenway Trail Closures: COMPLETED 2/17/2022. Contractors are scheduled to begin work on 2/10/2022 in the area north of Ashcroft Estates to the new Canopy Development, roughly between FR 151 & 159. They plan to have this trail segment re-opened by the end of next week, 2/18/2022.
