VOLUNTEER INFO

Check-in:             (or…how early do I have to get up?) Morning shift volunteers must report to duty at race headquarters (Gasconade Hills) either Friday between 4-8pm OR by 5:00am race day. Specific info for your duties will be given accordingly. Volunteers with later shifts will be instructed on when to arrive.  All volunteers will receive a race map/itinerary on race morning.

Directions:            Plan accordingly, as it takes about 1 hour driving time from Springfield.

From Springfield: The race will be headquartered at outfitter, Gasconade Hills, which is located one mile south of I-44 at the Richland exit # 145, near Lebanon, Missouri.

Camping:             Primitive on-site camping is free.

Free lunch:          Yea!!  Yummy, hearty food will be served from about Noon until the end of the race.  Volunteers eat for free.  Plan to bring your own snacks and water bottle for throughout the day, as you may get hungry while out on the course.

T-shirts:               Volunteers will receive a free race t-shirt.  T-shirts may be picked up on Friday night or Saturday morning before the race at our race headquarters, Niangua River Oasis.  You are encouraged to wear the t-shirt on race day.

Identification:          Volunteers will wear classy, fashionable orange vests to be easily identified by racers and other race personnel.  (Don’t forget to return your vest to us!)

Restrooms:          Restrooms and/or port-a-potties will be located at Niangua River Outfitters and at all transition points.

What to bring:          Water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, brimmed hat, sunglasses, camp chair, snacks/cooler, umbrella, rain gear, book/reading material.  Be prepared to be outside, rain or shine, all day!  A fanny-pack or backpack is very useful to hold all necessary race information and supplies.

Communication:          A race official will be stationed at each transition point.  In case of emergency or for any race questions, contact the race official.

Questions:           Contact Monty Montgomery at (417) 869-0990 or mont_truck_trailer@yahoo.com

PLEASE notify us ASAP if you CANNOT volunteer on race day!
