Frequently Asked Questions

Are the trails free?

These trails are currently FREE for the public to use. However, membership is encouraged because that is how greenways are created! In our opinion, if you use the trails, then you should either be a member or a volunteer.

Can you take dogs on the trails?

Yes. Please clean up after your dog and follow City ordinances related to leash rules, etc. Use good judgment when encountering other trail users.

What time are the trails open? Are they well marked and safe?

Trails are open during daylight hours only. They are well marked. Our intent is to provide the safest greenway environment possible for family-oriented recreation and we are working with City Police to provide law enforcement. TrailWatch is a group of volunteers looking out for situations that need attention.

Which trails are ADA accessible?

All are, with the exception of the Sac River Trail and the Volunteer Nature Trail.

How much is membership, and what do I get for it?

Memberships range from at least $30 a year to as much as someone can give! Members receive the tri-annual Ozark Greenways newsletter, trail updates, and invitations to events... but the main reason to be an OG member is to provide the vitally important base of support for greenway development in the Springfield community.
